Revive the Redlands Mall
Problem
No developer is biting to demolish & build on the land. While the reasons for closure are debated (view old city hall meetings) there is legitimacy in reopening the mall.
Solution
A cost estimate for refurbishment would be necessary, as well as a plan to get businesses back in. The location is prime and many local businesses have said they would’ve loved a spot in there. An anchor could be found and agreed with at reduced costs if the city is willing to waive (not subsidize, though that’s up to discussion) many costs.
I’m certain many residents and local business owners would be willing to allocate time and resources to aid in this.
Impact
The heart of Redlands wouldn’t be an embarrassment
Acceptance Criteria
An in-motion plan to revive and reopen the mall.
Assigned Officials
No officials assigned yet.

Worth looking at^
I wonder if the city could provide a report/estimate on the economic impact of having a mall vs not.
Hey— that’s what sparked it! Lots of folks are tired of the same pattern
